Preview any .cube LUT on your own image.
Load a photo or a video frame, add a .cube LUT, and drag the line to compare before and after. Stack two LUTs, such as a log-to-Rec.709 conversion and a creative look, set each one's strength, and download the result.

How to preview a LUT online
- Choose an image. Use a still exported from your timeline, a photo, or a video file your browser can play (the tool grabs one frame). Or start with the sample frame.
- Load your .cube LUT into Step 2. If your footage is log, put your camera maker's conversion LUT in Step 1 first, so the look receives the normal Rec.709 image it was built for.
- Compare. Drag across the image, or use the Compare slider, to move between the original and the result. Lower the strength to blend the LUT with the original, the same as the intensity or mix control in most editors.
- Download a PNG of the result if you want to share it with a client or keep it for reference.
Why does a LUT look different on my footage?
A LUT is a fixed table that remaps each input color to an output color. It can't see your scene, so the same file reacts differently to different exposure, white balance, and camera profiles. That's why checking it on your own frame tells you more than a seller's before-and-after. If the result looks flat or harsh, the usual cause is a log versus Rec.709 mismatch. Learn when to apply which LUT.
What this previewer does, and doesn't do
It applies the LUT to the 8-bit values of your image using trilinear interpolation, which is the default in many editors, and blends by your strength setting. It doesn't apply color management, so treat it as a close preview rather than a reference grade. When you're ready to use the LUT, here's how to load it in Resolve, Premiere, Final Cut, CapCut, and Photoshop.
Questions, answered.
Is my image or LUT uploaded anywhere?
No. The image, video frame, and .cube files are read and processed by JavaScript in your browser, on your device. Nothing is sent to Filmsilk or anyone else, and closing the tab discards them.
Which LUT files does it support?
Text .cube files in the Adobe/Resolve format: 3D LUTs of any common size (17, 33, 65-point and others), 1D LUTs, and files with a 1D shaper plus a 3D LUT. DOMAIN_MIN/DOMAIN_MAX and LUT_3D_INPUT_RANGE are honored. Other formats such as .3dl, .look, or .mga aren't supported.
Will the preview match my editor exactly?
It should be close, but not bit-exact. The previewer works on 8-bit image values with trilinear interpolation, the same math many editors use by default. Your editor may use tetrahedral interpolation, higher bit depth, or its own color management, and video players and browsers can display colors slightly differently.
Why does my LUT look washed out or far too contrasty?
Usually it's a mismatch between the LUT and the footage. A creative look made for Rec.709 will look flat and off on log footage, and a log-to-Rec.709 conversion LUT will look harsh and oversaturated on footage that's already Rec.709. Here's how to tell which you have.
Can I preview a video?
Yes, if your browser can play the file (usually MP4 and WebM, plus HEVC and many MOV files in Safari). The previewer grabs a single frame from the clip. ProRes and RAW files generally won't open in a browser; export a still or a short MP4 instead.
What does the downloaded image include?
A PNG of your image with the LUT chain applied at the strengths you set, up to 4096 pixels on the long edge. It doesn't add a watermark.
